Freedom to be yourself

As we celebrate 'freedom' today.. A question comes into my mind... The country got freedom 63 years ago... But do individuals in this society have freedom of being 'themselves'? I mean... most of us here are trying to fit in.. be a part of something or some group of people.. But isnt freedom supposed to mean that you can totally be yourself and not be embarrassed or not doing the 'in' thing!! Well here i list some notions that need not necessarily be conventional...
  • Guys can be cute and mushy.
  • Girls can detest shopping, jewelery, and dressing up.. (first hand experience!!)
  • Students can be responsible, careful and completely aware about the 'real' world.
  • Girls can dislike housework.
  • City girls are as 'traditional' as small town ones.
  • Fathers can show their feelings too.
  • Guys can dream about their dream weddings too.
  • Girls can enjoy heavy metal and rock.
  • Sisters can protect brothers.
  • Cousins can be cool too.
  • Friends for someone can be as good as or even better than family.
  • Having some time with your own self just doesn't imply loneliness.
  • Parties can be boring for some people.
  • Parents can be best friends too.
  • Fairy tales might just be real.
  • You can remain on good terms with an ex.

and several more...

To everyone, who has ever had something unconventional about themselves...' Lets be proud of who WE are... And lets live this happy life as the person we actually are.. rather than trying to be someone else who we are not and wont be happy being...

Cuz the people who love us... they do so for the person WE are right NOW!!

Happy Independence day fellas!!
