When i learnt handwriting analysis, my signature indicated a very strong influence of my mother on me. That was one moment that changed my life.
For the Record: I and my mother never get along. We have a (as it is said in hindi) ‘Chattis ka aakda’ ;) .
It took some time (and conviction!) but it was indeed true. I was deeply influenced by my mother. How much ever i wanted to run away from the truth, this was it. The fact remained that she held a very strong presence in my existence. I was someone completely opposite to her. Rather i had made myself someone ‘unlike’ her. Her effect on me was in the opposite direction. I knew someone i didn’t want to be. It didn’t matter if I knew what i wanted but yes, it did matter if i knew exactly what i did not want.
I know a friend whose father is as good as a chain-smoker. My friend HATES it! I know he’s not touched a cigarette in the past 25 years and he won’t do it for years to come.
Your best friend is always late. You detest waiting everyday for him/her. Result: you will instinctively be on time for a meeting because you know ‘how’ it feels to be left waiting.
There are lots of people all of us will meet every day. Some influence us in a positive way, while others are well...quite the opposite. Its for us to realise that how the latter too affect us when subconsciously we’re trying ‘not to be’ like them. More often than not these are your parents, close relatives, friends or even your boss. When its someone close, the resolve for not possessing that particular trait, increases even more. Also because you want to make them realise that you don’t approve of this behaviour. The underlying reasons can be many, but the outcome is what makes the difference...
I love my mom :) . Love her enough to have my first ever blog written on our twisted relationship!
Nice thought.. I have done it many times too.. Trying "not to do" something because some one close to me did it, and I dint like it.. I just didn't realise it I guess.. :)
ReplyDeletereally thoughtful...getting an insight into something all of us have done but never realised we do...same goes for me!!!!
